The attractions in Madrid city are nice, but the number of attractions are not as much as Barcelona. So you should include some famous attractions nearby, such as the Segovia that is 92 km north of Madrid, or Toledo that is 70km south.
Each place only needs 1 day tour and is very good to visit. And, don't forget to buy the top quality 48 months Iberian Bellota pork jamon!
Many great restaurants in the city center and adjacent neighborhoods. If you are in the city center, be sure to visit Mercado San Miguel for amazing food -- many food stalls with tapas, wine, bakeries, fresh food.
Spanish are very enthusiastic and welcome you with heart, so be the same as well. And there are a lot of places you can go in MAdrid, make sure you enjoy all your shopping, dining and drinking time there !!!
Madrid is a very architectural city which is rich in history and culture. I Loved the way they kept the city, especially the old and high-tech have been combined to give a feel good scenerio.
Very dirty and unfriendly city, be careful of pick pocket, they are every where, in the buses, streets, busy metro and also stadium, so be careful, will avoid this city.
Barcelona is much cleaner and friendly city
Madriad is at the center of Spain for trains and flights. There are many interesting activities within the city before taking side trips to South Spain and other cities.
Very good city. Loved the people and the fact that everyone was constantly happy. Taxi drivers could how ever be a little less agressive to make it even better.
I cannot be neutral since I am Spanish but don't miss the chance to come and see how wonderful Madrid had developed in last 10 years (amazing capital nowadays)
It is a charming city with a lot od place to be visited. You can find every type of visit in Madrid so plan your day and determine your own route.
Madrid is a wonderful place with lot of natural scenaries, buzzling crowd, lively streets with people around, restatuarnt on the side of the roads.
I loved it.
We took the city tour of Madrid and it brought us to many interesting places. The hop on hop off bus city tour was very convenient and cheap.
It allowed us to go around the city then choose which places we would want to go down either to eat, walk around and shop, go to church, etc. Food was great! We got to eat different Spanish food. Our favorite of course was paella seafood and paella negra. We could eat it everyday!
Do not underestimate the powerful combo of outstanding museums and cultural events with a super happening night life and gastronomic choices.
We took the hop on hop off city bus tour which gave us a fantastic overview of the city. The Prado Museum was incredible, a must see.
We had delicious meals with very good wines, for decent prices. Overall, a wonderful, memorable, experience and would like to give credit to people dealing with so many tourists for being so helpful. Julia Travel deserves recognition for being a great tour company, efficient, fun, informative, great guides and bus drivers, providing very positive, memorable experiences.
It is a thriving city with great architecture and culture. It seems to be developing from a conservative to a more progressive area.
It's a small city and can be covered in about 3 days, if like to travel out of the city centre, there are a few good options as well.
I love this city. I lived there for a while in 2004. Nice to visit again, but with a little more money to enjoy the great food!
Madrid is a very charming city , you can enjoy a plenty of activity here. There is always people walking around never stop city.
It is a really beautiful city. well planned and beyond expectation. It amazing how one designer could make such a change.
The place was beyond my expectation. The people are friendly and open minded. It seems every person can enjoy life there. One thing that should be care is using the subways at night. There seems to be some travelers who might potentially attack, I scarcely escaped from one unhealthy incident. Take cautious. The rest it is a marvelous city to visit.
Madrid is a nice city with friendly people. I would recommend staying on along weekend versus spending more than 3 days.
There are several good restaurants.
I suppose the main cultural attraction is the Prado Museum, including the very old churches around the city center.
I found interesting the Naval Museum with its long history since the times of discovery of the Americas. I enjoyed the variety of the Spanish food that can be found in the numerous restaurants and cafes of Madrid.
Madrid is amazing. If you havent been there, do visit. It is a must. So much of history, arts, dining, nightlife.
So much to experience. Just a great place to be.
I thought Madrid was beautiful , funky , hip , exciting , historically interesting , architecturally stunning .
. A classic European city with a very liberal modern approach .. I loved it !!
The city is beautiful but it's too crowded and there are too many street sellers who are rеally annoying.
On every meter somebody's trying to sell you their thing and after 10 mins walk you get really annoyed and can't enjoy the city.
The Royal Palace is what a Palace should look like. Imposing and interesting, definitely worth a visit.
On a good day, Retiro park is a great way to wile away a few hours.
It is a chaminmg city to be visited. You need to be carefull for the pick-pocket when you take a walk.
There is a lot of interesting place in every type that you are interested. Need to plasn ahead to built you own route.
Madrid has so many old and big buildings. Nice to see this city as different from other European city.
The sightseeing locations are very near by, which is walking distance.
Many guidebooks suggest brief stays in Madrid. We were here for a week, and did not tire of the city.
There are lots of museums--try the smaller ones as well as the big three. the Archeological and the Ethnological Museums are both excellent. The park is work a whole morning or afternoon.
People are kind and the atmosphere is very relax as they have a very long day to walk around the city.
I need to go back. We went when a lot of chefs are on vacation, which was a pain as its so well known!
